No copyright infringement

Several open-source libraries/projects were used in the program all in accordance to their licensing terms. They are listed at the end of this document. The rest of the code is original, which we hold copyright for. Due to use of clean-room reverse-engineering only, no code from any other original program may have been used.
Clean-room reverse-engineering

In all the cases where a process of reverse-engineering was necessary to implement some of the formats, a technique of a clean-room reverse-engineering was applied. One person would study the format and produce a text document describing it, while another would consequently implement support for that format using the provided text document only. No copyright infringement may arise in the process, as no original code in any form is transmitted during it. This technique is legal in most jurisdictions, including US.
Lack of circumvention of any digital rights management (DRM) measures

None of the formats supported employ any sort of encryption for any headwords, articles or multimedia content. In all the cases only reasonable unencumbered data compression algorithms are used, which is always necessary to keep file sizes small.
Lack of novelty/patentability

To the best of our knowledge, none of the formats supported by the program use any original method or apparatus. All the algorithms used are decades-old, and have clear prior art.
